Changes: 246 Students at PBC for the 2011 school year

9 national faculty and 2 missionaries (Michael and Sheila Middlebrook)

Testimonies:

Elijah is a third year married student with a three year old daughter and an
eleven year old adopted son. Elijah is an excellent student but because he
is from an economically deprived background he finds it difficult to raise
school fees. When school is not in session he at times works as a watchman
in order to take care of his family and raise money for his school fees.

Susan is a BA student at PBC. She is a single mother raising a seven year old daughter and a four year daughter. Susan's husband divorced her a few years ago because she did not bear him a son. He has since remarried. Susan has remained faithful to the Lord and has proved to be an
excellent student who is well respected by the faculty and students alike.

George, unable to complete high school due to his father suffering a serious head injury and his mother being raped and killed, graduated from our two year certificate program and is now enrolled in our diploma completion program. George is an excellent student and a very gifted preacher. He is thirty five years old. He is the only Christian among his four siblings. His burden is to win his brothers and sisters to Christ. George is from an extremely poor background.

Please let us know if you need additional information. Thanks so much and
God bless.

I think that there are many "Classical" Pentecostal churches that do not exhibit the the use of the Oral gifts in their services. But I would not say they were ALL the churches. The oral gifts can become a ritual just as easily as other aspects in the church services. I do believe that there needs to be a rebirthing of the fervour there used to be in participating in the services we atttend today. We cannot look "backwards" and say, "I wish ....." but we need to examine ourselves to see why we do not move in this area. Are we afraid we might offend someone? If we are really "flowing in the Spirit", I have yet to experience people who are offended. Maybe fearful, maybe awed, maybe a little confused, but not offended becasue the Spirit knows what each participant needs. My personal feeling is that we are so-o-o-o tied into a time limit to our services, we donot leave the Holy Spirit the opportunity to work through an individual to use the oral gifts. As well, there is so little teaching about these gifts, that many people haven't a clue what they are. I cannot remember when last I heard the worship leader say. "I believe the Lord is wanting to say something to us. Let's just pause and wait for Him to speak." Can you?
