  • Zimbabwe – Pan Africa Christian College

    BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL:

Pan Africa Christian College, Harare was founded in 1966 under the sponsorship of PAOC.  During its early years it was situated in the city of Mutare.  In 1974 the college moved to the capital city of Harare.  The college was established primarily to train pastors for the Pentecostal Assemblies of Zimbabwe but as it grew many other church groups began to send their students also.

For many years the college offered a three year diploma program.  As a result there are hundreds of graduates pastoring churches around the nation and beyond.

In March of 2003 arrangements were made with Pan Africa Christian University (PACU) in Nairobi, Kenya to offer a four year BA program of studies.  Dr Carl and Marion Verge came to give oversight to the transition and library resource expansion needed to support the new program.

PAOC missionaries have in the past and continue to play an important role in the college.  Since 2001 the college has had the excellent leadership of a national principal.  A good working relationship continues to exist between national and missionary personnel.

Today, PACC continues to offer a three year diploma and a four year BA program with over eighty full time students enrolled.

  • CONTEMPORARY CONTEXT AND ISSUES:

Zimbabwe is recovering from a number of years of political and economic difficulties.  Although the economy is recovering slowly, it is very difficult for students to come up with their tuition fees.  This puts a burden on both the students and the college.
